I have stopped making (unless you as specifically ) the crocheted trach bands that have a ring that fits over the tube and then ties in back. Someone told me that sometimes the ties (hers was a regular square cover) get tangled and she had to cut it stoma cover off. That was not a big deal but it made me start thinking about if it were one of my trach bands and it was important to get the tube out quickly without time to look around for scissors.

Velcro doesn't work well on crocheted items so I am trying to come up with some other ideas for trach bands. Please help if you can think of anything at all.....for closures, different styles, or whatever. I sure would appreciate it.

Fabric Trach Bands:

Fabric bands can be made of anything so I don't know where to begin with samples. The band can be as narrow or wide as you want although I try not to make them more than 1" wide. In front there is a narrow piece of velcro that goes into the flange and fastens in back of the band. In the back there is 2" of velcro for adjustment.

In order for me to make these trach bands I must have the measurement of your neck from one flange, around your neck, to the flange on the other side. I will make the adjustment for the 2" of velcro.

Fabric bands are $6.00 each unless otherwise stated.

All the fabric bands are made the same and I can make them in any color.
